An excellent appetizer for big groups, with rich sauce made with TOP Balsamic Cream Tomato and Herbs! It will become our favorite snack!

GREEK STYLE NACHOS WITH TOP BALSAMIC CREAM TOMATO & HERBS SAUCE

INGREDIENTS

FOR PIES

  • 3 souvlaki pies
  • 4 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 grated garlic clove (optionally)
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp dry oregano
  • salt and pepper

FOR THE SAUCE

  • 3 tbsp Horio Classic olive oil
  • 3 tbsp TOP Balsamic Cream Tomato and Herbs
  • 1/4 bunch of finely chopped dill
  • 10 basil leaves, finely chopped
  • 5 – 6 twigs fresh oregano, finely chopped leaves only
  • 1/2 tsp pepper
  • 100 gr grape tomatoes, quartered
  • 50 gr pitted olives
  • 200 gr katiki cheese
  • 1 coarsely chopped onion
  • 1 finely chopped Florina pepper
  • caper leaves for serving

EXECUTION

  1. Cut pites in 8 pieces and put them in a bowl. Add Horio Classic olive oil, oregano, garlic, paprika, salt and pepper.

  2. Mix well all ingredients with pita.

  3. Place pita pieces on a pan and bake in preheated oven for 8-10 minutes.

  4. Remove from oven and arrange in an ovenproof pan. They should create only one layer.

  5. Put 3 tbsp Horio Classic olive oil in a frying pan with peppers and cook over medium heat for 3-4 minutes. Then add tomatoes, basil, dill, oregano, olives, onion and cook for another 2-3 minutes over medium heat, until caramelized.

  6. Remove pan from heat and add TOP Balsamic Cream Tomato and Herbs, salt and pepper.

  7. Drizzle sauce over pies, sprinkle with katiki cheese and serve with caper leaves.
